Arc's young people in anti-social behaviour performances at Barking Station for National Express Foundation
Following a week of intensive drama workshops with Arc at Kingsley Hall in Dagenham, a group of students aged 14+ from Eastbrook Comprehensive, Jo Richardson and other schools around the Borough performed their short street theatre piece Above Their Station at Barking Station on Friday 8 August.
Directed by Artistic Director, Clifford Oliver, and Education Director, Natalie Smith, Above Their Station took place on the concourse at Barking Station ticketing hall in front of passers-by from the local community, visitors to the Borough, and specially invited guests, including the Borough’s Mayor, Councillor Elizabeth Kangethe and Leader of the Council, Councillor Darren Rodwell, local Police and British Transport Police and Chris Atkinson from the project funders at the National Express Foundation.
Above Their Station is a specially devised anti-social behaviour project looking at how our behaviour affects those around us. In addition to performing their piece on rotation, Arc’s young people spent time talking to their audiences to capture responses about their experiences and thoughts of anti-social behaviour.
