Written and performed by a student from Bromley Hall PRU, Against the Wall is an original piece of poetry exploring a young person's view of imprisonment.
Playing for Time - Arc Theatre's second Youth Inclusion project commissioned by the Historic Royal Palaces, is the culmination of an intensive programme of work by students from Bromley Hall Pupil Referral Unit, Tower Hamlets, together with Arc Theatre actors and directors. This collaborative project comes at an exciting point in the Tower of London's strategic development as it works towards achieving its vision of becoming a Centre of Excellence for Youth Inclusion.
Funded by the Jack Petchey Foundation and News International, Playing for Time took the shape of special installation performance event held at the Tower. Inspired by the sights and sounds, a group of 15-year olds worked closely with Arc to develop original artwork, creative writing, powerful short performances and films reflecting the atmosphere and legends of the historic royal fortress.
I want them jewels! I want them now!
Not to steal, just to feel, to know what it's like
The weight in my hand, of so much bling
That Queen of our land is a lucky thing
