Arc news: February 2016

Arc's Raised Voices girls group recruiting now!
The third year of our Raised Voices female empowerment group funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and London Borough of Barking & Dagenham MOPAC is once again open for new participants to join!
If you are female and aged 11 and over, living, studying or working in the Borough and enjoy drama and making new friends, you can join our group to make your voice heard on issues that affect you, your friends or your community! Come along from 4-6pm on Thursday 25 February onwards to Arc's home at Kingsley Hall Community Centre in Dagenham and get involved!
Last year our group won an award from the House of Commons, and 'Community Group opf the Year' in the first Borough 'Women's Empowerment Awards' for its work on raising issues affecting girls- including domestic violence, child sexual exploitation and female genital mutilation. Each year, we have worked together to make new films and presentations for young people on subjects that we feel passionate about. You can visit the dedicated Raised Voices website and watch some of last year's films here: raisedvoices.info
To find out more about Raised Voices, email nat@arctheatre.com or call Arc on 020 8595 8509, or to join - just come along at 4pm on any Thursday in term time!
