Arc news: February 2018

Raised Voices produce their fourth film!
We're delighted to have our Raised Voices female empowerment group here at Kingsley Hall this February, working on their fourth annual film resource for young people.
Working with 15 young women aged 10 and over from Barking & Dagenham schools, we're creating a brand new resource to be taken to schools around the Borough this spring/summer, looking at issues such as gender equality and the women's suffrage centenary, youth crime, sexual abuse (including the 'Me Too' campaign) and Female Genital Mutilation.
Raised Voices is funded by Barking & Dagenham MOPAC, and the previous four years of film resources (originally also funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation) can be seen on the dedicated Raised Voices website.
Raised Voices is open to girls aged 10+ and meets every Thursday in term time from 4-6pm at Arc's home at Kingsley Hall, Dagenham. It's free of charge to take part and everyone is welcome to join, regardless of experience or ability! If you enjoy drama, games and making new friends, as well as exploring issues affecting young women today, come along, and bring your friends!
