Arc news: August 2006

Arc's 2006 drama summer school a hit with young people!
As part of the Barking & Dagenham Play Partnership, Arc's two Make-a-Play-in-a-Week summer courses for 2006 ended in celebratory style - both with visits from Councillor Dee Hunt, The Worshipful The Mayor of Barking & Dagenham.
Held at Castle Green Centre in Dagenham, the first course culminated in an imaginative performance of 'A Trip to the Beach' presented by 20 young people from the Borough aged from 8 to 15. Led by Youth Theatre directors Andy Rogers and Natalie Smith, the group was delighted to perform their dress rehearsal in front of The Mayor who said, "I thoroughly enjoyed watching the piece - it's fantastic to see the children having so much fun and being actively involved in creative work like this. I can't wait to come back for more!"
True to her word, the Mayor returned the following week to watch 30 young people present an original performance of 'I Didn't Know' along with an audience of over 50 friends and family.
