Arc news: October 2016

SQUAD on tour - Arc's new film resource for young people
Following weeks of workshops and an intensive summer filming course, our brand new short film created by young men from Barking & Dagenham is now on tour!
Over the past year, Arc has been running a drama and multi-media project for young men aged 14-18 in the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, funded by The London Community Foundation for Comic Relief: Red Nose Day, through the Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund.
The resulting short film - SQUAD - made by our group of participants from Eastbrook Comprehensive School in Dagenham, explores issues such as peer pressure, friendship, loyalty, sexting, stealing and the law. This autumn, our young men have been touring schools and young people’s venues around the Borough with their film and accompanying Q&A workshop, presented by Project Leaders Clifford Oliver and Tendayi Jembere.

We would be very pleased if you could come and support our young men, who have done a great job of exploring issues relevant to young people today, and sharing their work with young people around the Borough. Together, they have produced a great resource for peer-learning, and to open up discussions on the issues both in and out of the classroom.
