An exciting opening has arisen offering a new opportunity for someone interested in guiding Arc through its latest stage of development!
Do you have a passion for the arts? Do you have a connection to the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham? Or perhaps you are a member of the local community – a young person, teacher, youth worker or volunteer who wants to get involved in the creative journey of an established local arts organisation? Do you have skills in either Finance, Governance, Criminal Justice, Local Council Education, Youth Services or Community Safety? Are you interested in applying your enthusiasm, knowledge or expertise to the development of an organisation working to promote positive change in people’s lives? If the answer to any of these questions is ‘Yes!’ – then please get in touch!
Based in Barking & Dagenham, Arc uses powerful live theatre and engaging multi-media programmes to increase awareness of current social, spiritual, moral and cultural issues, to challenge negative behaviours and lifestyles, and to improve confidence, self-esteem and aspiration.
Our bespoke training programmes are directed at developing skills for all ages and professions in this challenging world. Our specialism is in exploring issues of diversity – actively encouraging inclusion for all, regardless of background, heritage, religion, ability or gender/identity. We work passionately to tackle themes around Violence Against Women and Girls.
Arc’s Board meets quarterly – normally in the early evening either in person or online. Members are encouraged to attend Company events where possible – including rehearsals, performances or celebrations, in order experience the effectiveness our work in person.
To register your interest in joining Arc’s Board, please email your CV and a short statement on why you’d like to join us, to General Manager, Nita Bocking at nita@arctheatre.com.
