2017 has been a very busy year for us at Arc HQ! Here’s a snapshot of some of the things we’ve been up to…

This year, we delivered theatre programmes to 103 schools – that’s 220 sessions to almost 21,000 students in the London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Barnet, Camden, Hammersmith & Fulham and Havering, and in Hertsmere, Thurrock, Epping Forest and the West Midlands.

Programmes included:

  • Stop & Think: Stop and Search/Account awareness
  • Broadcast: Online safety for secondary schools
  • Broadcast Junior: Online safety for primary schools
  • No More Whispers: Female Genital Mutilation awareness
  • Conflict Resolution: Solving and dealing with conflict
  • Crossing Over: Road safety
  • Lucky Me: Mental and physical health and wellbeing
  • Out of School: Child Sexual Exploitation awareness
  • Touching Moments: Reporting sexual offences on the transport system
  • Prestige: Female empowerment programme

We also presented at 19 events and conferences to over 1,350 adult participants, including The Women’s Resource Centre, The Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Stop Hate UK, London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, London Borough of Havering, Thurrock Community Safety Team, Dacorum Borough Council and Hertfordshire County Council.

Events included:

  • Metropolitan Police Knife Crime event
  • Hate Crime Awareness conference
  • Scamming and Personal Safety performances
  • Violence Against Women and Girls seminars
  • Vulnerable Adults workshops
  • Community Engagement conferences
  • Teacher and School Staff FGM INSETs
  • Safer Neighbourhood Board presentations

In the meantime, our Raised Voices out-of-school female empowerment group has met for over 60 hours over the course of this year, with the latest film being seen by over 1,110 young people and adults!
