No Excuses

Arc’s new healthy relationships performance programme for young people has been created by our Education Director, Natalie Smith – a trained Women’s Aid ‘Expect Respect’ advocate, who facilitates the work in schools, joined by Arc’s professional, highly-skilled actors.

No Excuses uses a range of tried and tested engagement techniques, including short films, discussion and powerful, live theatre featuring the #Consequences scripted piece by Arc’s Resident Writer Clifford Oliver, to challenge negative behaviours and reinforce positive messages.

This interactive programme sensitively supports young people to explore issues surrounding Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), including misogyny, sexual abuse, and Domestic Violence, and has been specially devised to help schools successfully deliver the Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) curriculum, including teaching about the unrealistic nature of pornography, the dangers of taking or keeping nudes and explicit images, sexting, sexploitation, cyberbullying, and sexual harassment and abuse, in contrast to healthy relationships, positive lifestyles, respect and consent.

If you’d like to talk to us about how to engage your audience on issues that really matter, please contact nita@arctheatre.com or call 07483 342158.
